Manage episode 283697513 series 2818137
This episode is a little piece of my heart. I couldn't help but feel complete rage when I saw the front page headlines that Zoe Sugg and her brand Zoella is being 'cancelled' from a school curriculum (she didn't even know she was in) for having an article on her website recommending women's sex toys.
Women have been made to feel shame about owning their sensuality for years and it needs to stop. We are not supposed to be so disconnected from a huge part of who we are, from an innate part of our soul and femininity. The pain it causes in so many women as they grow up confused, not feeling connected to that part of themselves, not understanding where they are at with their own boundaries and who they want to be, is too much. It's unnecessary and the story needs to change. We need to empower all the women in the world now, and all the women to come after us - we owe it to ourselves and them!
This episode is not a victim mode rant, it's an open and honest discussion about an ancient, archaic narrative in our society that needs to be stopped. I discuss how we can be the change we need and why I am optimistic for the progress of this in the future.
