Pastor Micah continued our current series this week called Wisdom: A Study in Proverbs! While King Solomon was not perfect (he didn’t even always take his own advice!) he did record an incredible collection of wisdom in the book of Proverbs. This wisdom is timeless; it was relevant thousands of years ago and it is relevant today. The specifics may have changed, but the principles in Proverbs are still solid and sound advice for you and me! This week we focused on the relationship between wisdom and wealth.
Here are 2 important observations I wanted to highlight in regards to the book of Proverbs:

  1. Proverbs contains general principles about how life should work.
  2. Proverbs contains examples of foolish vs. wise behavior. (Not necessarily focusing on the morality of right vs wrong)

Solomon has a lot to say about our relationship with money, and here are 4 key takeaways for us all to consider:

  1. Wise people know when to save and when to spend!
  2. Wise people earn their money honestly!
  3. Wise people work hard for their money!
  4. Wise people properly prioritize wealth!

Bottom Line: God cares how we spend, pursue, and prioritize wealth.
