Based on a true story, it starts in 2017 when a lady called Beverley posted that she was on holiday in Corfu and was really upset at the amount of stray cats and kittens everywhere. There was one particular kitten that had really made an impression on her and who was living in a storm drain. Beside herself with sadness and worry, this led to a compassionate plea on the Street Cat Bob Facebook page asking people for advice. Of course, this came flooding in within minutes, the clear majority opinion being ‘take the kitten home with you!’. Not an option for Bev because she already had 3 cats of her own, and yet she was desperate for this kitten to have a home and a better chance of survival. Above all, she could not let this little kitten die the agonising death of poisoning, which is a very real fate for any stray animal on the streets come the time when the tourists leave the island at the end of summer. As the story unfolds, Bev realises that cats and kittens in Corfu are looked upon as little more than vermin, and getting someone to take it in off the streets is seemingly impossible, unless she can find a home for it abroad.
