Auch wenn es sich mittlerweile um eine anerkannte Diagnose handelt: die Dissoziative Identitätsstörung, manchmal auch Multiple Persönlichkeit genannt, bezeichnet nach wie vor eine sehr rätselhafte Form des psychischen Erlebens.
